Lessons in Leadership:  David Prosperi Interview

 

I am so pleased that I had the opportunity to conclude my graduate school experience by taking a course with Ron Culp during spring 2014.  This course, Leadership 2.0, taught us about qualities of good leaders.  Numerous guest speakers came to talk about aspects of leadership to look for in others and ourselves.  As a final project in this class, we teamed up with Gagen MacDonald, a strategy execution consulting firm in Chicago.  Our goal was to contribute to their "Let Go & Lead" project which creates a learning tool through interviews of influential executives about their ideas on leadership.  Each of my classmates and I were assigned a Chicago leader.  My interviewee was David Prosperi, Vice President of Global Public Relations at Aon plc.  He taught me some valuable lessons on how to be a great leader through compassion, engagement, and by creating opportunities for your colleagues.  This was an amazing experience that I will not soon forget.
